Construction in the coastal and rural areas of the north of the country, especially in Mazandaran province, is always associated with many climatic challenges such as very high humidity, consecutive rains, harsh weather and salt deposits. In such a climate, the selection of the external covering material of the building plays a decisive role in the durability, insulation and Rial value of the property. As one of the most original, modern and durable building materials, the refractory brick has found a special place among the architects and builders of the North in recent years. Nevertheless, asking the price of refractory bricks in Mazandaran and estimating the final budget for its implementation is one of the main concerns of employers and villa builders. The variety of plants, the quality of soil compounds, dimensions, thickness, the distance from the plant to the destination city, and the installation method, are all variables that change the finished cost. In this specialized guide, we comprehensively examine the factors affecting the price of refractory bricks in Mazandaran and introduce the best way to buy direct, affordable and high-quality products from the well-known Wall Stone brand.
Why is refractory brick the best choice for the weather conditions of Mazandaran?
Before we discuss the components of determining the price of refractory bricks in Mazandaran, it is necessary to know why this material has become so popular in humid areas such as Sari, Babol, Amel, Nowshehr, Chalus, Matalqo and Ramsar. In the northern regions, materials such as natural stone or cement-based materials suffer from crushing, sagging, surface cracks and algae growth due to the penetration of moisture and constant temperature changes. On the other hand, the standard firebrick gets an extremely dense and impenetrable structure thanks to firing in furnaces at a temperature above 1200 degrees Celsius.
Resistance to high humidity and constant north humidity
The most important factor in buying building materials for Mazandaran is the material's water absorption percentage. High-quality firebrick has a water absorption of less than 6%, which prevents the absorption of rainwater and moisture caused by the humidity of the air. Low water absorption prevents the decay of the internal texture of the brick and its cracking in cold and wet seasons.
No color change against sunlight and acid rain
High-quality refractory brick color is the result of natural mineral compounds such as iron oxide and manganese in the baking process, and no artificial colors are used in it. Therefore, direct sunlight in Sharjah summers and acid rains in autumn and winter of Mazandaran cannot destroy the colored pigments of the brick and guarantees the beauty of the facade for decades.
Preventing the problem of dandruff and surface erosion
The biggest nightmare of brick buyers in the north is the phenomenon of dandruff. Dandruff is formed due to the release of dissolved salts in soil and mortar water. When pure and processed firebrick is used and the facade is combined with anti-dandruff mortars and nano materials, the surface of the brick remains completely clean, transparent and without white spots; A distinctive feature that is definitely guaranteed in the products offered by Wall Stone.
Investigating factors affecting the cost and price of refractory bricks in Mazandaran
The pricing of brick in the northern market does not follow a one-dimensional formula. A set of technical, logistic and quality parameters are involved in determining the price of refractory bricks in Mazandaran, whose careful examination prevents hidden costs from being imposed on the builders.
1. Soil type and mineral composition of raw materials
The main quality and price difference in firebrick is caused by the soil used in the production line. Kaolin soil, chamotte refractory soil, feldspar and shale each have a different crystal structure and extraction price. Bricks produced from pure soils without lime have a higher price, but they do not break or peel in any way against Mazandaran's climate. The use of poor-quality and impurity soils lowers the final price, but in the first winter of the north, it destroys the façade.
2. Furnace technology and baking temperature
Bricks that are baked in traditional and manual ovens do not have uniform heat distribution and their wear and bending resistance is weak. On the other hand, modern industrial factories equipped with tunnel kilns and smart roller kilns produce bricks with a uniform temperature and dimensional tolerance close to zero. A higher firing temperature causes complete firing of mineral phases, reduction of porosity percentage and increase of compressive strength of bricks, which this technical advantage affects the price of refractory bricks in Mazandaran.
3. Dimensions, thickness and design pattern of the mold
Refractory brick is produced in various formats such as rectangular plate, L (corner) refractory brick, shutter brick, wide tiles, Dutch brick, rustic and narrow. The standard thickness of refractory brick is usually between 2 and 2.5 cm. Increasing the thickness means more material consumption and heavier weight, which increases the cost of each piece and the cost of freight. Also, tile bricks with a long length (for example, 40 or 60 cm) have a higher price than conventional dimensions due to the difficulty of production and the possibility of more warping.
4. Variety of colors and price range of each spectrum
The color of firebrick indicates the minerals used in it. English firebricks (crimson, liver, red and onion skin color spectrum) and Chamoti firebricks (mustard, cream and orange color spectrum) have a more balanced price due to the abundance of mineral soils. On the other hand, modern firebricks such as black, dark gray, charcoal and pure white firebricks have a higher price range in the Mazandaran market due to the need for special formulations, the addition of expensive metal oxides or the use of very pure white kaolin.
5. Transportation costs from the origin to Mazandaran
Most of the big factories producing refractory bricks are concentrated in the central provinces of the country such as Isfahan, Yazd or Qom. Transporting cargo to Mazandaran province from mountain roads such as Haraz, Firouzkoh or Chalus requires payment of heavy freight and trolley or double freight. The high weight of refractory brick makes the cost of transportation a significant percentage of the price of each square meter of refractory brick in Mazandaran. In the meantime, buying from centers such as Wallstone, which have a dedicated distribution network and optimal delivery methods to different cities in Mazandaran, minimizes logistics costs.
6. Installation fee, infrastructure and supplementary materials
The price of the material is only part of the work. The cost of firebrick special glue, nano caulking powder, waterproofing liquid and the salary of an experienced craftsman in the north of the country has a significant impact on the total cost of facade construction. The harsh conditions of Mazandaran require the use of polymer waterproofing powders so that moisture does not penetrate the back of the bricks. Although these new mortars slightly increase the initial cost, they will prevent the staggering costs of facade renovation in the future.
Types of refractory bricks widely used in Mazandaran province and cost comparison
To manage the budget in construction projects in Mazandaran, it is essential to know the characteristics and price range of each type of firebrick. This category is presented based on the most common models used in villa construction and clustering in the lush northern region:
English refractory brick; Economical, nostalgic and resistant
English brick with a warm color spectrum, including tan, dark red and liver, is one of the best-selling facade bricks in the north. The extraordinary harmony of warm red color with the green environment and dense vegetation of Mazandaran gives a unique effect to the villas. In terms of price, English firebrick is one of the most economical and popular options due to the abundance of fireclay clay reserves and high demand.
Chamoti firebrick; Eye-catching with coastal coloring
Chamouti brick with pea, golden, orange and cream color tone is baked from rich chamouti soil. Due to its light color, this brick absorbs the heat of the sun less and creates a fresh, classic and cheerful atmosphere. Compared to English brick, chamouti firebrick has a slightly higher price due to the more precise baking process and the cost of extracting raw materials, but in combination with black metal flashings and thermal brick windows, it creates an aristocratic and modern look.
gray and black refractory bricks; The height of modernity in luxury villas
In recent years, the wave of building modern and minimal style villas in cities such as Kalarabad, Chamestan, Noor, Nowshahr and Ramsar has increased the demand for light gray, lead gray and pure black firebricks. This type of brick has the highest price level of refractory bricks in Mazandaran due to the need for advanced metallurgical formulation and high sensitivity in the furnace. Despite the higher price, the added architectural value of these bricks multiplies the selling value of modern villas.
White refractory brick and oyster cream
These bricks are made from the purest kaolin clay and must be fired without any iron oxide particles so that their color remains pure white or shell cream. Baking these bricks requires extremely high heat and furnace filtration. These bricks create a clean and reflective look and are placed in a higher price category than English and chamotte bricks.
Guide to calculating the price of each square meter of refractory bricks in Mazandaran
One of the key questions of architects and contractors is how to calculate the price of refractory bricks in Mazandaran based on each square meter. For accurate estimation, the following steps should be considered:
Number of molds per square meter
The standard dimensions of most refractory bricks are 31 x 7 or 32 x 7 cm. Considering the standard one-centimeter banding, about 40 brick molds are enough to cover one square meter of facade. If shutter models with a narrower width (for example, 31x3.5 cm) are used, this number increases to about 80 molds per square meter, which increases the final price of the material and the execution fee.
Calculating the percentage of outliers and cutting
In the architecture of northern villas, there are many Persian corners, entrance boxes, columns and volumetric protrusions. For this reason, it is recommended to always buy bricks between 5 and 8% more than the net surface area, so that the project does not stop during cutting, cornering or possible breakage during unloading.
The effect of removing brokers on the final invoice
When firebricks are procured from retail stores or local intermediaries in Mazandaran cities, usually 20-40% dealer profit margin is added to the factory price. Also, the lack of familiarity of these intermediaries with the principles of specialized brick loading can cause parts to fall off. Therefore, directly asking the price of refractory bricks in Mazandaran from first-hand and specialized platforms such as Wall Stone, removes this unnecessary financial burden.

Golden tips when buying refractory bricks for Mazandaran projects
To ensure a successful purchase and prevent budget wastage in Mazandaran region, it is extremely important to observe the following points:
Checking the ringing sound of the brick when it hits
A traditional and reliable way to test the quality of firebrick is to hit two pieces of brick together. If the brick produces a clear metallic and rustling sound, it indicates very high density, complete baking, absence of internal hairline cracks and homogeneity of soil particles. A muffled sound indicates the rawness of the brick or the presence of hidden cracks, which means that such a product will not be suitable for the humid air of Mazandaran.
Using nano hydrophobic coatings after finishing the strapping
Although high-quality firebrick has low water absorption, it is highly recommended to use resins or nano-absorbing and breathable liquids to guarantee a lifetime in the coastal strip of Mazandaran. These materials, without changing the natural color of the brick, create a completely waterproof surface to wash the raindrops and the dust sitting on the facade. This work prevents the creation of black spots caused by smoke and moisture in the vicinity of busy roads in the north.
Adhering to the standard strapping width and using a template
Banding in firebrick is not only beautiful, but also plays the role of expansion and contraction seam against temperature changes in the north. The width of the strap between 8 and 10 mm is the most ideal. The craftsman must use standard templates and low-salt mortar so that the bond between the bricks remains resistant to the pressures of the coastal wind.
Final summary
The price of refractory brick in Mazandaran is a function of the type of refractory soil, dimensions and thickness of the mold, kiln technology, coloring and transportation costs from production centers. The special weather conditions of Mazandaran province, including constant humidity and harsh weather, have made the purchase of refractory bricks with low water absorption and anti-dandruff standards an inevitable necessity. Despite the higher initial costs compared to some traditional materials, the durability of several decades, the lack of constant maintenance and the modern beauty of firebrick make it a profitable investment in the construction industry of the North. In order to optimize costs and provide guaranteed material at the factory price, benefiting from the direct and professional services of Wall Stone Group is the best solution for architects, mass builders and building owners in Mazandaran province.
